1864 - Willie J Charlesworth born in Nottingham
1896 - Willie J Charlesworth's 6th child William was born
1897 - Willie J Charlesworth starts his own business
1901 - Willie J Charlesworth buys a cycle shop in Washwood Heath and starts producing bicycles and sidecars
1902 - Percy W L Charlesworth born, Willie J's 8th child
1903 - Leslie G G Charlesworth born, Willie J's 9th child
1908 - Willie J rents small factory at 88 Aston St Birmingham
1917 - Percy becomes Willie J's first employee
1924 - Percy & Willie J expreriment with Bakelite moulding, becoming Damard Laquer Co's (later to become Bakelite in 1927) first customer in Birmingham
1925 - Cyril E Charlesworth, Percy's son born. 
1927 - British Industrial Fair Willie J & Percy exhibit with Birmingham Gas moulding ash trays
1929 - Factory moved to new site in  Stechford
1934 - Charlesworth Mouldings Ltd registered by Willie J & three of his sons
1941 - Percy & Cyril start business on their own as Charlesworth & Son from home in Castle Bromwich
1942 - First years profit of £281 / 6s / 2d
1943 - Charlesworth & Son move to Water Orton
1944 - Joyce Mortiboys joins the company & starts work in the office
1945 -
1946 - Cyril called up for national service in the Navy
1947 -
1948 - Cyril & Joyce marry
1949 - Percy designs and builds transfer moulding press
1950 - Jeannette Charlesworth, Cyril & Joyce's daughter born.
1951 - Our first mouldings in thermoplastics - Diakon (acrylic) & Ralsin - now Rilsan (nylon 11)
1952 - Work building new factory at Curdworth starts. Charlesworth & Son becomes a limited company
1953 - Charlesworth & Son Ltd move to Curdworth view slide show

1957 - Extension work carried out to toolroom and new finishing shop added
1958 -

1962 - First injection moulding machine bought
1963 - First moulding with glass insert produced
1964- First Automatic compression moulding press bought from Bradley & Turton
1965 - Michael Cummings joins Charlesworth & Son
1966 - Moulding shop extended

1970 - Jeannette joins family business taking on all injection moulding production
1971 - First lost core moulding produced

1974 - Jeannette & Michael marry
1975 - Percy retires
1976 - Morgan Motor Co Ltd become customers
1977 -
1978 - Win £50,000 order from British Aerospace for Milan guided missile components
1979 - Ian Cummings, Michael & Jeannette's son born
1980 -
1981 - First robot to enable automatic insert moulding bought
1982 - Sue Cummings, Michael & Jeannette's daughter born
1983 - First Arburg Allrounders bought
1984 - CNC milling machine bought
1985 - Hazel starts work in our finishing shop
1986 - First CAD system bought
1987 -
1988 - Injection moulding shop extended and 85 Ton Arburg Allrounder bought
1989 -
1990 -
1991 - Charlesworth & Son celebrate 50 years of business
1992 -
1993 -
1994 - Production of Lucas warning lights taken over from Lucas Body Systems
1995 - Ian joins family business
1996- Vaccum forming machine bought
1997 - Tie-bar-less Engel bought
1998 - Sue joins family at Charlesworths taking on CAD drawing
1999 - Cyril dies
2000 - First artifical fence aprons used at Cheltenham racecourse
2001 - New robotic equipment purchased
2002 - Ian graduates from Coventry University with B.Eng hons degree in polymer science & technology
2003 -
2004 -
2005 - 3D CAD modelling system bought, cutting tool design time
2006 -
2007 - Fused Deposition Modelling machine (FDM) bought
2008 - Major extension to double moulding shop area completed
2009 -
2010 -
2011 - Charlesworth & Son  - 70 years
2012 -

Charlesworth & Son are able to offer our customers injection moulding & compression moulding of thermoplastic & thermosetting plastic materials, insert & outsert moulding, advice and assistance with product design and material choice, rapid prototype using Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), tool design and manufacture.
